Bubble Skirt

Here is a skirt that I have been wanting to try. I have been trying to come up with new ideas for fairy costumes and have been thinking that a big billowy skirt would be a fantastic twist on the traditional look. LOVED it! The Fairy loved it too! This one is brought to us by Get Your Craft ON.

Ponytail Ties

I have finally convinced the Fairy to grow her hair out long enough for me to put a ponytail in it. Woo Hooo!!!! It is the cutest length of just barely long enough to pull up and naturally bobs in under the elastic. These ties from Elizabeth's Fabric Focus are PERFECT for her and they remind me of something out of the movie Grease.

Pillow Case Dress

When the Fairy was born, my mom gave her a beautiful pillowcase dress made out of a vintage hand embroidered pillowcase. I cherish it and it is one of the "few" baby items of her that I am hanging on to. I love this tutorial by Maya Made that gives instructions on how to make them. I am actually embarrassed to admit that I ran and took the pillowcase off of my own pillow (because it had a lacy edge) and immediately whipped one up. I think that they are so classic looking.

Pool Robe

On Sew Mama Sew you will find this great idea! Although I haven't made one of these yet, I plan to when summer comes around. This will ensure that they will stay toasty once they get out of the pool.

Ice Cream in a Bag

Laying aside the fact that I am a total ice cream junkie, this is just plain awesome. Ohdeedoh has come up with a great way that you can go from zero to ice cream in 10 minutes. YES! 10 MINUTES!

Beach Towel Bag

Here Martha shows us how to turn a beach towel into a beach bag.

Kimono Top or Dress

More often that I care to admit, I have remembered that I have to attend a baby shower with only an hour or two's notice. However, since finding this tutorial by Habitual, I have now come up with some pretty snazzy shower gifts that have had people ooohing and ahhhing the entire time. tutorial

T-shirt into a Newborn Gown

I LOVE to repurpose things. I am a terrible pack rat not because I can't get rid of things but, because I can see so much potential in the things that I am getting rid of. I thought that you might get a kick out of This Mama Makes Stuff's idea for a Newborn T-shirt.

Newborn Wrap Dress

How sweet and precious would this be as a present to give a new mom. I love the idea that she has with the wrap t-shirts that I on the other hand don't know what to do with. I really like that she dyed the t-shirt first. So, hop on over to" This Mama Makes Stuff" and see her wrap dress.

Very Clever Skirt

I loved this tutorial. At first I thought that it was going to be hokey since I am not a huge fan of elastic as waistbands but, after looking at it, I was quite intrigued as to how cleverly designed it was.

Have you ever seen these and wanted to make them. Here is a great tutorial on Flickr.

Ruffles

I love ruffles and I can not tell you how excited I am that they are in style! I do have a secret wish that I was 5 years old again so that I could wear them all the time and have everyone think that I was absolutely adorable. So, go on over to Confessions of a Craft Addict and see how much fun this addiction to ruffles can be. My poor Fairy has now been subjected to me adding ruffles to nearly everything that she owns.

Bias Tape

I never buy bias tape from the store. I love to make my own from vintage fabrics, old prom dreses, fun outdated cottons, etc. However, I will tell you that this tutorial has changed my life. what a great way to get every single inch of your fabric to work to your benefit.

Sydney Skirt

While on my journey to construct the perfect ruffle skirt, I came across so many that I loved. I took bits and pieces from several to come up with the one that I love the most. I wanted to share this great one from The Polka Dot Chair.

Panel Skirt

If I were to show you my basement and the boxes and boxes of fabric that reside there, you would wonder how I would ever find the time to use it all up. Well, after seeing a friend of mine make a darling panel skirt for her little girl, I was on the search for an inspirational pattern. I found it here! Love the tutorial from Christy Nelson and the skirt that I made from it.
